I cannot see my phone or printer on fing. I have two unknown ips on ny list I cannot identify.

What do i need to do to see my two devices on the fing list? How do i locate the ip address on an iPhone?

    To locate the IP Address on your iPhone, tap "Settings". Next, tap "Wi-Fi". Look for your home wifi network name/SSID. Tap the "i" icon, located to the right of it. You should see the IP Address your iPhone currently has. The Fing app may, also, show the MAC Address. To find the iPhone's MAC Address, tap "Settings", then "General", and, finally, "About". Scroll down, and look for "Wi-Fi Address". You should see the MAC listed as XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX. If the IP Address and MAC match one of the devices on the Fing list, then you'll know it is your iPhone. Most likely, the other would belong to your printer.

    A printer may take a bit more work to find the IP and/or MAC Address. Usually, printing a "configuration" or "network" page/report, may show both. If your printer has a front panel display, you may find something in the "Settings". An Internet search of your printer's make/model may help find an online manual, to help you with printing a configuration/network page/report, or show where to find the printer's MAC in the "Settings". If you installed the printer on a Windows computer, type "Control Panel" (without the quotes), in the search text field, on the task bar. When found, click on it. Next, under "Hardware and Sound", click "View devices and printers", or "Devices and Printers". Under "Printers", right-mouse click on your printer, and select "Printer properties". In the window that opens, click the "Ports" tab. Look at the "check marked" item, high-lighted in blue. The numbers/letters there, may be part of, or all of, the printer's MAC. See if any match what Fing shows. If you are on a Mac (Apple computer), my apologies, as I do not have one.

    Thank you for your help. I found the iPhone ip. Not sure why Fing didn’t automatically recognize it like my other apple devices. I’d did print the settings for the printer but the ip they show does not match the remaining unknown is shown on Fing. That’s what has me worried!

    Just out of curiosity, does the printer's IP, on from the "settings" you printed, show up in Fing?
    For the "unknown" IP in Fing, is it "active" (ie in Fing, the device is not "greyed out")? If so, can you ping it (tap on the device in Fing, then, tap on ping, under "Manage this device")? Does it show a MAC Address, under "Network details" (scroll down below "Manage this device")?

    No the printer ip does not show up on Fing. I will try your other suggestion. Thanks. I appreciate the feedback .

    Pinging doesn’t appear to do anything. Settings show the unknown IP on line with no available MAC address. Its got to be the printer. No other devices should be on the network.

    Is it a wireless printer? Or, it is connected via ethernet (network/LAN/Cat6e cable)? Some printers, with wifi, can be setup to act as an AP (wireless access point). On your iPhone, in "Wi-Fi", do you see any other network that you can connect to, that may resemble your printer's make/model?
    Or, do you have your wifi router setup with "guest" access? "Guest" access allows others to connect to your wifi/Internet, but not to your local network.

    It is a WiFi printer. I use Apple air to access. It is not an access point and it is setup on my local network. It isn’t a static IP. Very confusing like I said. Tried pinging the unknown IP with the printer on but no response. I’ll dig into the printer a little more. Thank you so much for all the ideas and feedback. You’ve been very supportive and helped me learn more about a Fing. Love this ap!
