Leaderboards for individual categories

Hello all!
The leaderboard has been a great way to encourage engagement and identify community/smart home and Fingbox experts. Its been very helpful for managing the community, identifying experts and also rewarding a member of the month.
We'd definitely keep the overall site leaderboard but I've been toying with the idea of adding individual leaderboards for each category which is an available feature of the platform we are using.
This would help us identify both Fing App/Fingbox experts and encourage engagement in Devices/Security and Network Troubleshooting categories.
What does everyone think of the idea?

So I'm looking for ways to increase engagement especially in the Fing agnostic categories. (Like Devices/Security and Network Troubleshooting). So this was an idea I had to encourage people to be active/participate in other categories.

To get participation up one of two things imho at least need to happen. Either a large influx of fing app or Fingbox users, who will discover this site naturally via the app or packaging nomenclature (my wish for you folks!), or making this site the equivalent of a go to site for network and security related questions and answers for the layman. Word of mouth and google will help get you views of course, but the site needs to be seeded with more relevant questions to get on the search radar of people who Google them. I think the experts will come along with them.

I'm not a person that performs well within a competitive environment, individual Leaderboards could promote the wrong responses to questions just to receive a 'point'.

The more ways that members can compare themselves with each other, the more engagement you will have. I always check my "points" when I visit. It's silly, and has nothing to do with self-worth, but people tend to do it.

I guess the idea is that of course you have your leaderboard - but then you may have those who participate only in 1 or 2 categories. For example; they may know a lot about Fing App - but not much about Fingbox. Or a lot about security but not so much Fingbox. We'd still have our general leaderboard.
Anyways, perhaps it is worth testing out for a month and seeing how it goes? Then we can decide whether to keep it or not too!
