Cool demo of a smart home being hacked

Just came across this clip of the guys at Firedome out at CES2019 demonstrating how a whole home can be hacked via a vulnerability in a single device - in this case a camera. How realistic is it?

I fully get that this could be possible but again it is set up for a demonstration so there are certain things that they already have access to that a would be burglar wouldn't. Also most thief's are opportunists and probably would pick an easier target really.
If you want to spend long enough then anything is technically hackable if it is connected across the internet.
The other thing to remember is most people don't use Google home and Amazon echo together and that apart from the camera is what makes this hack possible. Also security cameras are better if not connected through Alexa. Normally you would just use the app that is designed for the camera.
