"Apple is planning to release iOS 13 next week, but one security researcher has already discovered a lockscreen bypass. The exploit allows you to bypass the lockscreen and gain access to all contact information on an iPhone."

    This is something that's been around for a while and only affects you if you have the option set to allow "Reply with message on lock screen". Which I don't - in fact there scant little I do allow to happen while locked.


    Apple could have helped themselves here simply by having it default to "off".

    Good to know,  so there is a means of safeguarding your data prior to the patch to fix it.
    You're right #hronos, Every OS can be influenced like this, it just so happens that Microsoft hasn't really made a move to secure the OS away from non-crucial data like Mac and Linux does.
    Why can't Microsoft just come up with sudo for windows, that actually works.

    Just to add on to this, September 24th’s iOS 13.1 release should address this vulnerability. If you have made the plunge to 13, it’s recommended to upgrade when this comes out.
