Would you purchase the Samsung Galaxy Fold as your next cellphone device?

I love new tech and the promise of flexible displays is great but I'm not sure what problem this is solving

I'll take "massively overpriced untested tech that will appeal to niche buyers before being replaced by something else" for $6,000 please, Alex...

I agree.  I mean does this address an issue that has become an epidemic within the gadget community?  Stop keeping your device in your back pocket and sitting on it! =)

The difference being, Mr Smarty Pants, that the iPhone is massively overpriced TESTED tech.

    In a more serious mode:
The problem with this "folding display" technology is than it is "on the edge" (pardon me the posible pun) and make it reliable and/or justifiable for the tag price.  Folding displays maybe more suited, now, for some other application, one not as demanding as a phone (thinking on the addiction to use it that exists).

I'd think that a folding display could work if it had a similar design like Nintendo's Gameboy Advanced or similar approach.  But even still, we've been down that road before, is this really innovative?

The display is plastic. I can’t imagine how long it’s going to hold up.   Between the folding and general wear. I side with @Gidster, what problem are they solving?
