How to solve high Fingbox data consumption
My Synology router informs me that I have a network traffic of 2GB per day (on average) between my Fingobx and internet so about 60 GB per month. It's enormous! I am in the US at Xfinity and my internet subscription is capped at 1TB/month, so 60GB is very impacting.
What are the reasons for this level of data consumption by the Findbox? Is there a way to fix it?
This can also raise the question of the data mastery by the FingBox. Privacy policy?

Thanks for your help,

This would likely be due to the automated speed tests. Would disabling those be an option for you?
I guess they are nice to have but if you are on a capped data consumption plan it could be an option.
I'll check with our support team @Robin if there are any other recommendations.

For uploading of data, automated Internet Speed tests are set as a default for all Fingbox users. This is the reason, Fingbox is able to send the Internet performance report every month. The scheduled test takes about 30 seconds. It figures out your internet speed by measuring how much data can move through your connection in that time, in download and in the upload. The test uses different amounts of data depending on how fast your connection is and where you do the test. For example, a typical test can use up to 20 MB- 20Gb of data. If you turn off the scheduled Internet performance, it will stop the traffic but you will not be able to obtain the Internet performance report every month.

I will turn off the scheduled internet performance option.
Best.

Turn off the Speedtests and then see what happens...
@VioletChepil should we merge this thread to the one I referenced above?
