Fingbox associated to my desktop when hardwired.

Hello,

When my desktop is hardwired, Fing is showing my account as having a Fingbox associated to it. I do not have a Fingbox. My desktop is showing as having the same IP address. See below for screenshots.

    Hi, it looks like it might be misidentification, although i’ve not seen this before. Trying deleting the device from app & desktop account & rescan the network, that might clear it but don’t hesitate to report back if it doesn’t work.

    Working on clearing it but while digging around it looks like an API was setup? I’m not very technical but wouldn’t someone of had to have to set this up? Or should I hold off on freaking out?

    It turns your computer into a fingbox basically. Fingbox doesnt do much except monitor internet traffic, most routers do that. But yea, it baicslly turns your computer into s fingbox itself

    I thought the Box had more capabilites like digital fence, etc?

    Off the original topic but to your question, by constantly monitoring traffic it can identify nearby devices (Digital fence), it can identify devices on your network, block devices you don't want want on your network, troubleshoot selected issues and a host of other things.  The API is but one way to get the data its discovered, as well as the web and mobile apps.
