Fingbox disconnects sporadically

    I'm a gen 1 owner and I've had the same issues. My fingbox disconnects and reconnects probably 20+ times a day.

    Hi all, as Ciaran mentioned earlier today:  Our engineering team have advised us that in effort to resolve the issue our Engineers are now copying the data from the old disk (of the affected shard) to a brand new disk. Hopefully, this will resolve the issue.
    In meantime, I would advise you all not to reset your Fingbox as it may put much strain on storage volumes because Fingbox needs to connect to Fing app and then it will update to the latest firmware and much more. This may produce a delay in setting up the new shard in AWS correctly.
    Please refrain from resetting your Finbgox. Thank you all for your patience.

    Yes...  This is the service Fing uses to host their infrastructure.  Amazon is one of the largest service providers in the world for this.

    Was offline for a number of hours yesterday. Since coming back online has been stable. No sporadic alerts over night

    Sadly not the case here. I powered it up again this morning and it dropped offline within an hour (back online 1 minute later).

    Fair play, thanks for the update. Did think it was a problem my end at first but glad there is still an excellent support team and community out there.

    Fing is still the only Kickstarter I’ve bought and it’s still a brilliantly useful tool.

    Id love it if I could access it outside of home network from my phone, but still happy 😊

    I’m glad to have found this thread as my Fingbox (V2) has been continuously going on & offline for the past week or so. I had no idea what was going on and thought it was malfunctioning. I look forward to seeing a solution.

    Same here, worked yesterday with only one disconnect. Today already 4 disconnect / connect events !

    Same here, the Fingbox was running for a day and a night, today I received nearly 30 On/Off events from the box.

    So, we are back where we started a few days ago. Just disabled all notifications.

    I have same weeks for prolonging my premium Abo, and for sure I will not do with this situation going on.

    Came back on line yesterday was stable over night this morning back to where we started dropping off line and after a few minutes reconnect. Maybe time to start considering another device anybody got a recommendation?

    Is this still happening?  My Fingbox keeps going offline and I keep getting alerts all day and night for days.  I can’t even turn off the notifications in the app, the app keeps turning it back on.  If this keeps up, I think I might have to turn off the Fingbox permanently as this turned from a useful tool into an annoyance.

    My Fingbox seems to have settled down.  Was having the same issue as everyone posted over the past week (cycling off and on with red flashing LED).  Today, my Fingbox finally has a solid blue light again.

    That's the way mines was yesterday! today back to dropping connection, really starting to loose faith in the equipment. Which is great pity, as I have used it since it's release.

    Have some faith.  They’ll fix it.  I brought my noisy fingbox back online. My other one has been well behaved for a week now.   B)

    Also gen1 owner. Started a few weeks ago. Tried firmware update. Now it’s only red.

    the Firmware Download starts(white blinking), about 3 minutes blinking stops, lights are completely out. NO white light comes up. After some time the whole ring gets red...

    also unpowering and power after a while it gets red.

    currently it’s not working...

    New status, the reset switch is broken. How do I open the fingbox to fix this?

    @Carsten_1969 I've got the same problem...  My gen1 fingbox is also missing/has a broken reset button
    On another note...  After yesterday's day of constant flapping, my fingbox seems to be stable again this morning.

    @Carsten_1969 @Rfischman Fing’s official advice at the moment is to not reset your device until they confirm there is no issue. The issue forcing FBs to report as online and offline is preventing reactivation.

    just open the 3 litte torx on the backside, while you have detouched the blue rubber....
    but it does not make sense there is nothing to restart you can just unplug and plug again form the current.
    The AWS services around the Fingbox are having problems you should still wait...
