Hi all and Happy Wednesday! Been running Fing on Windows Desktop almost trouble free now for two months and trying to get it to match up on my two Apple devices. Both have the same issue. iPhone and IPad running IOS 14.4 ( issue was even prior on 14.1 ) . Upon opening the app I run a device scan and all my devices come up as “ Generic “ with corresponding IP addresses i have on my Windows version list ( which i have already tweaked all info ) except of course the device I’m using for the scan ( which shows up as the same name if have listed on Windows ). I have made several attempts editing the list to correspond with what i have on my Windows ( which IS on the network but wired not on wi-if ) to no avail. After input, it appears the page/info is “ saving “ but it doesn’t and the device still shows as generic even after a refresh. New to the “ Fing Thing “ or “ Fing...ing “ so any help will be appreciated.
Cheers! Simon

Hi all, I’m having the same problem as OP - to be clear the issue I’m referring to is the IOS app is not saving and retaining edits I do to a particular device on the network. (I get the IOS 14.4 MAC changes discussed above - but that relates only to ability to recognise a LAN device from MAC, NOT why an edit in Fing IOS app refuses to ‘save’ device edits, a different and unrelated point unless I’m missing something here. It’s so bad on IOS for me that it’s unusable - just cannot change any device reliably, these changes include device name, Icon, device location - all the basic stuff a user may wish to edit. Is this issue not happening for anyone else? Thanks in anticipation.
