How can I adjust my alerts for the Fing Community?

    I was just about to ask this question - the beauty and value of a good quality search function, eh?

    It’s good to know when there’s been an answer in a particular thread - but on the other hand, not every thread, and also I don’t think an email per *every* additional comment is efficient from your side either.

    Imagine when the board has thousands of users. The mail server will never stop, and may even cause unnecessary load on the forum.

    Maybe just one email if/when the thread has been updated since your last visit. Just a thought.

    Glad I can change my default to “don’t notify” but just star an individual thread though. Just hope it doesn’t get too popular. Lol.

    I suggest following the categories you want to get alerts on. Or just the threads.

    If you are interested in getting alerts on beta testings etc. you can follow this category. Not too many discussions being posted, and these are mainly going to be app, release notes, company updates and beta testing which may interest you.

    Thanks, @VioletChepil - although I'm hesitant to "follow" a busy thread, as I get a million emails; surely a consolidated summary email, or even a "you've had replies, but we won't send any more emails until you've visited the thread" (like a reset) option; both vBulletin and phpbb discussion forums have this functionality.

    This is definitely something to consider for future updates of the community. Something as an admin I'd love control over. We've done some customization to get things launched but the platform we're using doesn't have this feature natively, and so I'm requesting better options for this. I don't expect a fast turnaround on this capability but definitely something I'd like as we grow and make improvements.
