Why does the device still show up online if the device internet is blocked?

Today I discovered that if I block a device's internet connection the fing app still shows the device online why does the fing app do that if the device's internet connection is blocked?

Blocking it's access to the internet isn't physically taking the device offline. You are only rerouting internet traffic so it can't get incoming or outgoing internet traffic when it's blocked. You might be able to block the device in your router to keep it from connecting to your network.
