Why doesn't Fing open on my Windows 10 PC? It opened immediately after installation but never after I restarted my PC.

Robin: Yes, it is minimized in the system tray and I can open it from there. Thank you.

Are you opening as administrator or a regular account?

I have tried both without success.

The version is 1.0.0? Could you try uninstalling and reinstalling?

Yes, it is 1.0.0. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling without any change. Apparently (from the Task Manager), Fing is running but no window is open.

It could be a related issue:
Fing 1.0.0 installed 28 february on win10; first 2-3 days all ok; now the 'Scan for devices' runs properly but ends with a blank panel; the same happens for 'See last scan'. Uninstalled & reinstalled but nothing changed.

@rosario_p I have the same issue and don't know why as of yet, I don't believe it's related to this issue as here Fing Desktop was simply running in the background.

    Hi @rosario_p
We are investigating and working on a new version that has major bug fixes. Thanks for your feedback.

install of 1.0.1 fails on my win 10 surface pro 2017.  And it keeps asking to install it.  Also, fing 1.0.0 stopped working and re-installing it is very tedious.  Finally got it working again, but every time I let it try to install 1.0.1 the popup says installation failed and aborted (or some words like that).

Also, the installation exe file should NOT be named fing.exe but something like fing_1.0.1_install.exe

This is what I see everytime I allow fing to try to update to 1.0.1
I've uninstalled fing, then re-installed fing but this still happens.

    Hi @richwardca
Did you provide you an error code for the setup installation failure?
Also, Can you try to uninstall the Fing Desktop by using either Iobit Uninstaller or any other app and then reboot the device and then install it again?

So, thank you that worked. It's in the Tray on the right. So I guess the Desktop Icon shortcut it creates is useless as I does not open up the app...
