Bitdefender Box

Does anyone have any experience using the Bitdefener Box? Wondering how well it works the the Fing Box.

Should be working with Fingbox nicely! We've not had any reports of incompatibility?

I'd not pay the price tag when you can utilise an old PC and run the free Sophos UTM (https://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-utm-essential-firewall.aspx). It may not do all the Bitdefender Box does but it does all you need I'd expect but without the price tag. I ran it for a while on an old Optiplex 755 which I picked up for £30 and it ran just fine. I only changed because I wanted to play with other options out of interest.

I haven't used a bitdefender box, so can't comment, probably not something i will be getting either

While I've never used it, this one piece of information instantly turns me away from it.
From their website:
"Bitdefender BOX 2 is a subscription-based product and the first purchase includes one year of subscription. After the first year, the subscription costs $99/year and you can protect an unlimited number of devices."
Fing is $99 ONE TIME PURCHASE for the same services.

I'm not so sure I agree with this. The Bitdefender box is more akin to a Firewall. A Fingbox is not a firewall.

Yep, Bitdefender can be installed AS the router/firewall while Fing sits behind the router/firewall.

its a utm by all accounts, its a threat management system, similar to the likes of the netgear utm9, utm25 etc they were also subscription based, and its the subscription that turns people off them, as £/$200 for a device that needs £/$99 every year on top people don't want that commitment.
