Can someone explain to me fully what the dots and the colour codes mean and everything

    You're looking at a Traceroute screen.  Without seeing the data that goes along with the yellow nodes in that list, I can only guess to say that the response time from that part of the network is slower than expected.  See my other post about what a traceroute and PING is.
