Notification when Fing Desktop looses internet connectivity?

Can notifications be sent once Fing desktop is offline/down regardless and agnostic to the reason? (ISP minor or major outage, power loss, computer failure, etc).

As a test, I shut down the computer running Fing Desktop, and several hours later it still states that the network is online in the Android app and no notification whatsoever is received.

I have been looking around, and documents mentioning notifications on a network level (not a device) seem to be outdated.

Offline notifications for devices work OK, but I of course need notifications if the entire network monitoring, i.e. Fing Desktop, is unable to report back to the cloud.

Looking at the help section, it would appear you should be receiving them at least via email.  The graphic below is from their website... (The yes/yes is if supported in the free and pay versions)

I know I receive a constant stream of who is in and out of my house, but I have yet to have an outage long enough for the desktop to notice to check on this for you.  Keep in mind that unless you keep the desktop running all the time, you will not see outages if its off or in sleep mode at the time....

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question mark @Marc, I really appreciate it.

The notification you are referring to is regarding widespread internet outages for my ISP, which I presume is when it's detected that a burst of customers sharing the same ISP gets disconnected at the same time.

I am also not looking for per-device connectivity notifications.

What I am unable to figure out how to enable, and which used to be a feature of Fing back in 2016 (when I last was a paying customer) is a notification outage notification of my Fing monitoring instance, i.e. losing connectivity of Fing (desktop) with the Fing cloud service, regardless of the reason (powerless, application shutdown, small ISP issues, etc).

I think there is a way as I’ve seen outage maps etc. Just not sure if it requires a paid subscription and if it’s triggering an alert as well to your inbox. Will investigate this evening.

Yes, the map is for the widespread outages. I am looking for a notification when my Fing Desktop renders disconnected (even if it's only mine and not due to an ISP outage.. e.g. by a power-loss).

You can set up Fing for outage notifications (ISP) by going to Fings website...  See screenshot below and link.

Thank you again @Marc! Unfortunately, this is not the feature I am looking for. Please do the courtesy of reading my previous posts carefully. Let me know if anything is unclear.

    Sorry, I was indeed sidetracked.

Your Fing desktop has to be up for you to get notifications as it’s the inception point for this. If you’re looking for a monitor of monitors, you would need to set up a Fingbox appliance. That notifies if it’s off line and anything else you’ve told it to look at.

@Marc, yes, it's a pity that this feature isn't supported in Fing Desktop for premium users. It was a feature in 2016 before they went down the rampage and tossed out all users without the device.
