Fing doesn't show IP address for a printer

Fing (Mac) at 2.9.0, Brother printer

IP address from the printer menu is 10.0.0.136 - that's in the DHCP range for this network.
IP address reported by Fing is blank.
The only other device with a blank IP address is an old Kindle.

I've pinged the address, gotten a response.
Next, I powered the printer off and pinged the address.  Timed out.

All thoughts are welcome.

Thanks in advance
Bob Perkins

Hi @MichaelAngelo68154, can you describe your network topology a bit for us?  It might help solve this mystery.

There's a router that, through DHCP, provides a range of IP addresses to clients.
The router does that day in, day out.  There's ten or fifteen clients.

    There isn't much topology involved.

One last question, when you look at the DHCP tables from your router, you do not see anything out of the ordinary, right?  Have you tried removing it and then re-adding each to see if that helps?  I have two Kindles and a Brother Laser Printer so I know by default, Fing can see them.  Lastly, can you see their Mac address when your looking at them within the Fing app?

@Karl_From_Fing or @Dylan_From_Fing, any situation you can think of, in light of this being a fairly generic network setup, why Fing is not picking up IP addresses of specific devices?

I've looked at Xfinity Connect, Device Details, for the printer.  Nothing seems out of the ordinary.  Hostname, brand, model, MAC Address, and - wait for it - IP Address are correct.

    Fing shows the MAC address.

I removed the printer from the Fing device list, then rescanned the network.
The printer shows up, but the IP Address is still blank.

Yesterday the dryer (LG), the old Kindle, and the printer were listed in Fing without IP addresses.
[The washer (also LG), had, according to Fing, an IP address.]

Today Fing is showing IP addresses for the old Kindle and the dryer.

IP address for the printer is still blank.

This morning all devices - including the printer - show IP addresses.
The printer is now at 10.0.0.100, so the lease was renewed and a different address assigned.

Sure seems like Fing doesn't always report IP addresses.
