Fing speedtest still shows wrong ISP

Fing desktop and app both showing an ISP in Kenya (!) and not my local country ISP.

The last person who answered this said you use the GEOIP2 City database, but as I had said in my original question I already used the test API on MaxMind with my public IP and it shows the correct geo and ISP data on their GEOIP2 city web database.

The ISP in Kenya does have a similar IP but it is not the same, and MaxMind is 100% correct, so pointless approaching them and telling them their DB is wrong when it is not!

How do we go about fixing this? Seems a pretty basic point and it means I can't see any peer data across my actual UK ISP, which was one of the reasons why I was using fing in the first place.

fing actually displays my ISP, both the IP address and provider name, elsewhere in the app.

    ISP shows wrongly in speedtest.

Public IP shows correctly in parts of fing and the IP is 100% correct in the GEOIP2 database.

Showing as on the other side of the planet in fing.

Other ISPs have shown correctly in the past.

    Hey @astir
For ISP name detection, I would like to tell you that we use GEOIP2 City Database API by MaxMind. And they update their database every week. If the Fing App shows a different ISP name rather than what you use, It is because the same name is picked up GEOIP2 City Database. The ISP name is identified based on the public IP address by Fing App and then it is matched against the GEOIP2 City Database API.
Additionally, if you are experiencing such an issue where the ISP name has changed, and are unsure why, try signing out and performing a manual test.

...maybe you don't read the questions carefully enough.

I checked the IP on GEOIP2 and it shows correctly.

So the ISP your app is showing is absolutely NOT what GeoIP2 drives from the public IP address.

    Hey @astir
May I ask you to sign out of the app and perform a speedtest then and let me know if the ISP still shows incorrectly?
