Scanning not working ("See all devices", "Refresh" button unavailable)

Hello,

it happens several times that the scanning function on my local network is not working or simply  freezing. It successfully worked some times ago but it looks to me everytime I need it it's not working anymore...

I already reinstall fing 2.6.0 from scratch and restarted the computer, deactivated antivirus or Defender => No luck.

Here my network configuration from Fing


"Scan" or "See all devices" end up with the same results:
 * the page "Devices" is blank
 * the "Refresh" button is not available for click
(sometimes, through, it happens to display some 'Generic' devices with correct IP address but stay frozen with the same symptoms, Devices not updating anymore and Refresh button not available for click / see below)



it sounds to me fing is trying to call a low level function on the adapter, or is not able to cope with specific IP configuration (like multi IP address on single NIC) or is facing issues with some Ethernet devices

I see plenty of message on the forum but they almost all end up with remove and reinstall and you're done....

Is there anything I can do to help in fixing this issue, or at least understand where Fing is stuck and what kind of error it's facing ?

    Also i noticed that Fing seems to be stuck in the "Analysing your setup" section (Hone, top left corner) :



    can't see any infos re the 4 'pending' checks, that seems to be never ending nor timeout-ed...
    Alos, nothing in the Windows Event viewer

    Is there any developper who could lead us in a direction to see what could be wrong ?

    Hi @ThomasRoux
    Can you try to quit Fing desktop from Task manager and then try again? If the issue persists, please try to delete the network identified by Fing desktop via Fing mobile app or Fing web app and then check? If possible, please sign in to safe mode with networking and then check if issue is happening in safe mode or not?

    to reply Siebrand's ye sI tried to kill/restart the agent but it looks always not rsponding.

    After a reboot it worked fine (5 steps in Home / Analysing section were 'skipped') but same as Siebrand I'm stuck on the Refresh pages and it displayed all 'Generic' names.
    Then came the 2.7.0 upgrade popup, which i accepted.
    After reboot, back to normal (i.e. working), but I'm pretty sure this is a matter of time, let's see in a few days.
