Fingbox pulsing orange; Home "disconnected" from phone app, "not responding" from web app

New Fingbox connected directly via Ethernet to router running DD-WRT.   UPnP Service is enabled on the router and "Clear port forwards at startup" is also set.  I set up a static IP for the Fingbox.  I've tried unplugging/plugging the power as well as the Ethernet cable from the Fingbox.  I don't know if this is relevant, but the router is configured to use a VPN.     Any ideas on what I'm missing?
