Its a pretty straightforward app but as for tips, combining it with a Fingbox can make it significantly more usable as it would be scanning all of the time, unlocks a few interesting features and provide some additional protection to boot. There are also a premium subscriptions you can buy if you don't have a Fingbox which would give you a bit more feature wise.
