MAC Address Lookup--Blank

I started using the MAC address lookup on Fing.  Most of my devices are found here but I have 2 questionable devices that I scanned and no information is coming up under the MAC address scan.  Can I find out whos device this is?

    Hi @Bitsy
    Can you share the screenshot of the scan so I can guide you? Thanks

    Thank you Robin. I started to look up the MAC addresses to take screenshots for you via my desktop app but my Fing desktop app is all the sudden saying Fing service not found. My WiFi signal shows all bars and Fing is working on my phone. I do not see the MAC look up on the iPhone app. Really appreciate your help!

    @Bitsy

    First I would like to confirm that you are:

    • Installing the Fing Desktop under the 'Applications' folder only. If not, Fing Desktop won't be able to connect to its services. If it is not, it will appear as 'Unidentified' or ‘Undefined.
    • In this case, the service might have been disabled and cannot launch until the service is re-enabled. This is likely the result of the service having been unloaded using 'launchctl' in conjunction with the -w switch. This will disable the service. This condition can remain, even if the software is uninstalled and reinstalled.

    To resolve:

    Re-enable the disabled service using the following commands in terminal:

    • sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.fing.service.plist

    Thank you but the desktop app was running great. It just stopped out of the blue today.

    Hi @Bitsy
    From the screenshots I can see Fing desktop is working correctly. The last screenshot shows you are using Fake MAC address 02:00:00:00:00 which will never respond to any information.

    Thank you Robin.  Yes, Fing Desktop started working correctly.  I wonder if it is being blocked somehow.  And, I am not using a fake MAC address. What is this??  Thank you very much!!
