kickstarter account...no longer access to features in iOS app?

Hi i have a Fingbox from the kickstarter campaign and I launched the iOS app today and i noticed that I don't have access to features like router vulnerability, timeline, etc that I had access to before. Was there a change to what features us "legacy" folks get, or is my account somehow misconfigured? I've already logged out/logged in again to the iOS app but same issue. Thanks.

I have the same problem. This weekEnd, I installed a new NAS (WIRED) and I cannot connect to the internet. I made a lot of tests and finally I discovered that if I disconnect my Fing Box, all went well. I go to the fing box to unblock the new device, and surprise !! I have not the option anymore ? I thinked that it a version problem (IOS App), but not. I tried with the desktop app that I installed just for this case, but same problem. It is possible that the unblock device (or the pause Internet ...) are only in the Premium Version ? In this case, It is not the original deal that I had when I bought the box. And in this case, the box is completely useless ... I want to be free to manage my network and my devices by myself, it is why I bought the Fing Box.
If someone has an answer .. I take it !!
    Regards

Hi @CortoMaltese, I suspect the Fingbox network is not on your Home tab, see the link in my previous comment on how to add the Fingbox network to your Home tab. Thanks

How can you give that response? Its just untrue. The digital fence feature has been limited to only a couple days when it went back months before the change.

You guys need to start owning the switcheroo you pulled on us. That feature was the only reason I bought a fingbox and you absolutely removed a feature that was promised to stay with the product without any additional fees.

    I've seen it.

I also see you guys constantly saying noting has changed. I don't care what some focus group, you guys hand picked, had to say about their usage. My usage and decision to purchase was 100% based on the digital fence features you offered that have now been changed to premium. Own it. Let people know your promises are only as good as your next focus group. Because its a slap in the face to me and anybody else that took you guys at your word. I get it, its a PR nightmare and probably above your pay grade, but at least have the common decency to be honest about it. There are many many posts saying 'nothing has changed', only a couple actually admit, yeah well we changed this stuff a little bit. And even that info isn't easy to find when you are first looking.

Hi @ProTecK, if you are having issues finding or operating your Digital Fence functionality, thats no problem, we will help you. To assist any other users who may be experiencing a similar issue, I will post the outcome here (obviously not including any sensitive information).

Hi all Fing and Fingbox-Users of the first hour,

For me all answers from the Fing-Admins are not correct and absolutely helpless. I am very disappointed about that. The new Fing-App for iOS Version 10.0 lost all functions for Network-Safety. If you want those important functions back, you must buy the very expensive Premium Abo for 59,99 € per year or 6,99 € per month. For testing and to prove these statement I "buyed" the free of charge Testversion "iOS Fing-App V10 Premium" for one Week .. and the result was ... all Functions are back (but only for one Week).
Since now I've tested all the solutions, that I got from the Fing-Admin Ciaran. The tests costed me some hours. I am German ... and some technical words are not so easy to understand. But nothing helps at all. The free iOS Version 10 of Fing is absolutely worthless, if the hardware Fingbox should monitor and protect your network. All you can see is a list of your network-devices with IPs, MACs, and sometimes correct Manufacturers. Also correct is the function of presence and absence of the users. The speed-tests of WLAN are also ok. But at this time the Fingbox (that costs me 99 €) without the Network-Safety-Functions in Fing is only a little bunch of electronic scrap. I can't understand, why the Fing-Admins tells us not the truth. I am a poor Pensioner; and 60 € for a little piece of software PER YEAR is much too expensive for me. Please @Ciaran, put me on the list of users with heavy problems, and set up a support ticket for my problems (Intruder-Alarm, History more than 3 entries per device, professionell Router- and Networktest and so on).

From the cold Northern Germany I wish you all much health and a peaceful second Advent.

@SchatziPuffi, Im sorry, but you do still have access to all of your Fingbox features, from what you describe, you are scanning from the Free Mobile App version of the app. Please ensure you are scanning from your Fingbox (i.e. from the Fingbox Dashboard). If your Fingbox network is not appearing on your 'Home' tab, please see how to add it below (for iOS):

To add a network to your 'Home' tab on an iOS device:

    1) Ensure you are logged into the account associated with your Fingbox

    2) Go to 'Home' tab

    3) On the 'Home' tab, at the very top, you will see the current network that you are connected to. To the very right hand side (across from where the 'Scan for devices' icon is, you will see an icon (3 lines & bullet points icon). Press that.

    4) A list of networks will appear. At the very top of the list, you will see 'My Fingboxes'. Choose the network associated with your Fingbox and swipe from right to left

    5) 2 icons will appear and illuminate: a 'Home' icon in blue & and 'Trash' icon in red. Click once on the blue 'Home' icon.

Your Fingbox network will now be added to the top of your 'Home' tab.

An alternative way to access your Fingbox dashboard would be to:

    1) From the 'Home' tab, click on 'Scan for devices'

    2) An options list will appear, choose 'Show Fingbox network', click on that.

This will bring you to your Fingbox dashboard where you will see the tabs for all of the Fingbox functionality.

I will keep responding to you until you (or any other users) find their Fingbox functions. They have not gone away, and we are not removing them. Thanks

    Hi @Ciaran,
I have never written, that I can't see the dashboard, where all the devices of my network are listed. That works correct with the old and the new Fing. This was shown on the "Startseite" where i must push the button "Alle Geräte anzeigen" ... this is in english "Show me all devices".
Now I try to write again, what is missing since the last update (iOS V10):
    1. Eindringlingsalarm (in english: Intruderalarm. Someone tries, to get in my network. Then Fing should give me an alarm)
    2. Sicherheitsüberprüfungen (in english: Fing should warn, if someone tries to overtake my router or tries to use an open port with bad software, and preventing the bad software to install malicious software in my system)
    3. Unbegrenzte Werkzeuge (IP-Tools, e.g. to trace the route from my router to a website or to ping another website or device)
    4. Ereignisse (in english: Events: The new Fing-Version shows max the last 3 events, the old Fing-Version showed many pages of the last events per device).
These four missing functions I wrote down from my brain, because I have current the free Premium-Free-Testversion for 1 week installed on my iPad Pro. And, as I wrote to you yesterday, with the Premium-Version (V10) everything is working like the old version (Fing for iOS V9). Also I wrote to you yesterday, that I will write you again about the "lost functions" when the testweek is over. That must be at December, 17.
Again I wish you a nice weekend and much health!

Hi @SchatziPuffi. Thanks for the update & for each of your points, really useful.

OK great, so you can access the Fingbox Dashboard. To each of your points:
    1) Please ensure you have the alerts turned on, see: https://community.fing.com/discussion/5607/alerts-update-not-receiving-email-for-any-alerts#latest . If you are referring to the auto block functionality, from the Fingbox Dashboard:
    • Go to 'Network' tab, scroll down to 'Auto block'
2 & 3) If you are referring to the Vulnerability tool, from the Fingbox Dashboard:
    • Go to 'Network' tab, scroll down to 'Router Vulnerability'
    4) As mentioned in my previous update to you. This has been increased to 3 months (following feedback from users). This was rolled out 2 weeks ago for Android. It was due to be rolled out 2 weeks ago for iOS also however there were delays in Appstore verifying the release). This will be included on the next version of the iOS app release (our Engineers have advised this is commencing on Monday)

Thank you again for the feedback. I regret of there was any confusion, however, if you have any more questions, dont hesitate to ask.

Thanks & have a nice weekend,

    Ciaran

Hi All, to confirm, Fing App iOS version 10.1.0 was released this week. This resolved the events & reported timeline issues that you reported. Thank you for your feedback to date & indeed for your patience.

Just a reminder, if anybody has difficulty accessing their Fingbox functionality please ensure 1) that you are logged into your Fingbox account & 2) that you have the Fingbox network added to your 'Home' tab. To do this: https://community.fing.com/discussion/5810/are-you-having-trouble-accessing-your-fingbox-functionalities-from-the-app

These are the 2 main reasons that seem to be preventing users accessing their functionality recently.

If you have any queries relating to this, dont hesitate to Direct message @Robin and @Ciaran & we will be happy to assist.
    Thanks
    Ciaran (Admin at Fing)
