Running Amazon Fire Stick without internet?!

I believe my roommate is using my internet/wifi for his Amazon Fire Stick.
Is this possible to run the Fire Stick without internet and NOT see on Fing app?

    Hi @Jenny_NYC, in order for your roommate to attach into your network, he or she would need your WiFi SSID and password and an IP address from your router...  This you would be able to see in the Fing App or better yet, on your router as a device you do not recognize.
