Search in Fing Desktop 2.3.0

I have Fing Desktop 2.3.0 installed on my Windows 10 20H2 after I uninstalled the prior version. Everything looked good. However I noticed that the search does not work with NAME anymore. I wonder if anyone experiences the same problem?

Everything seems to be working correct upon my testing on both Windows and MAC machines. Can you share the screenshot of the error you are getting so I can investigate further?

In order to demonstrate what I am experiencing, I named my iPad Mini to "iPad 321". So,

if I searched for "ipad" or "mini", it showed up as the screenshots show:



However, if I searched for "321", nothing showed up in the devices list:

Based on my testing on my MacBook, it was able to find with exact same. Is there any space between iPad 321? if there is no space then it might not work.

Yes. There's a space between "iPad" and "321". Well, I never had this problem in prior releases. But I asked here because it's happening with Fing Desktop 2.3.0 on 3 different laptops running Windows 10 20H2.

Based on my testing, it was working for me on both MacBook and Windows. I am not sure why it is not working for you. If more users are facing this issue then we can check with log files but as of now, I am not sure if this will be treated as priority but I will make a note of this and if I see other users facing the same issue then I will try to replicate the issue and present it to our developers.

I am finding Fing App Device Search not searching name field which lead me to this post. Don't know how to get help on this, except to post here.

Can you share the screenshots where you are searching for a device by its name and it is not working?

Still does not work. In fact, does not search Name, IP Address, or HW Address.

The search doesnt work for names or IP address as names can be manually assigned and IP address can change but search does work for HW address, O.S type and date or Details

The fact that the names and IP addresses changed is exactly why we need them to be searchable!
