fingagent.bin remains infesting Mac Catalina after Drag Drop to Trash

Specific instructions to remove please -- as it is a rogue agent and I want it gone from it's CPU and Memory stealing activities. I find it INCREDIBLE that there isn't even an uninstall tag to find the advice and search doesn't help either.

    Hi @Imout
Fing desktop or its agent is not a rogue agent but if you want to uninstall application, you can move the application to trash and if some items remain, you can either use free 3rd party uninstaller like iobit or search for Fing and move the remaining files to Trash.

Thanks Robin, I found that fingagent.bin was eating a good chunk of memory and cpu... slowing things down. Other than that... I really like the interface and information. I'll continue using Fing in the future, but by reinstalling and uninstalling... at least until fingagent.bin calms down on Mac OS. It might be a good idea to build that concept into Fing... to make deleting fingagent.bin easy, and even easier to re-install it. Just a thought. Thanks for the excellent reply!

    Thanks @Imout
I have got in touch with our developers and I would like to share that GPU is used seamlessly by our UI framework to render pages and graphics. You can disable the GPU and CPU usage by going into preferences and disable the Hardware acceleration. It will resolve the issue.

I just noticed on my iMac, that fingagent.bin is on top (rated 1) of the processes sending data or phrased differently collecting data. What is it collecting? What is used for?

Fing desktop run regular scheduled network scans every hour for free users and every 10-20mins for premium users. The scan results are shown in Fing desktop app for the connected network.

    Hi Robin,
Thanks for the answer but that wasn't really my question.
The screen dump indicates that fingagent.bin has sent 213.8MB to whom? I hope it is Fing.
    But what does it sent?
What data is gathered and sent to Fing (I trust it is Fing and Fing alone)?

With regards to Local API: it’s actually local for Fing desktop.

For data collection, Fing Desktop sends it to cloud servers. The size of data depends on the execution time of the fing agent. Also, if you use tools on Fing Desktop the transferred data increase as well. It’s a normal process. To verify, the uptime of the process, please run the following command under terminal and share the results:

    ps -ax -o etime,command -c | grep fingagent.bin
