Removed a rogue access point and now my Mac doesn’t work!

Hi I installed a fing box a while ago and after network detection it told me there was a rogue access point. I didn’t do anything at the time as I did not know what device it was referring to and there was only one option to clear it which was to something like ‘remove it from network’.

but I kept getting notifications for it and to be honest I got fed up looking at them so I clicked the only option to clear the notification.

now my MacBook Pro will not connect to the internet... :(

Router is Huawei IDG Echolife

fingbox v2

fing app 9.2.0

running on iOS 13.7

if the fingbox is unplugged , then it can't be doing the blocking.  What error are you seeing at the MAC?  Can you connect to wifi at all?  Have you tried to delete the Macs existing wifi connection (The one that's blocked) and set it back up again?  (Goto preferred network and delete it).

i tried resetting the router and the Mack is still blocked...

    any help appreciated

Then it sounds more like an issue with the Mac than with the Fingbox or your router.

    Thanks.

that put me on the right track. Somehow the network was not allocating my Mac an IP address. I had to forget the network. Restart the WiFi router and re-sync iCloud.

then I could rejoin the network and get an IP.

don't know why it happened but at least it is working now.
