Fing speed test, I'm sorry but I have to let you go

The Fing Speed Test just uses too much data, north of 50 GB so far this month and we still have 9 days to go!  I have Comcast for internet because it's really the only decent ISP in my area.  Unfortunately they have a 1.25 TB monthly data cap and our family of 3 gets fairly close on many months.  Too much streaming since Covid!

I wish there was more control over the speed test and how much data it consumed but it seems to be an on or off setting, so, off it goes.  :(

    Hi @Adampk17

For uploading of data, automated Internet Speed tests are set as a default for all Fingbox users. This is the reason, Fingbox is able to send the Internet performance report every month. The scheduled test takes about 30 seconds. It figures out your internet speed by measuring how much data can move through your connection in that time, in download and in the upload. The test uses different amounts of data depending on how fast your connection is and where you do the test. For example, a typical test in the U.S. can use up to 20 MB- 20Gb of data.

If you turn off the scheduled Internet performance, it will stop the traffic but you will not be able to obtain the Internet performance report every month. I hope it clarifies your query.

Mine wasn’t really a question. It was more of a statement to the developers so they know the situation some of it’s customers find themselves in with the Fingbox product so the developers can make adjustments to this feature if they see fit.  More of an explaination of my situation and maybe a enhancement request.
