Fingbox never found in app

Hello, I have recently bought a fingbox (v1) and attached it to my router via ethernet.  It's showing green on the LED ring but never gets found in the app so I can't add it.
It can be seen in network scans and visiting the IP address of the box in a browser shows the message:

"Your device is being recognized, thank you!
Check your device in Fing in a couple minutes,
the improved recognition can take some time."

Any clues as to why it can't be found in the app?

    @Diggory, is this a new unit or did you buy it off of someone?

    Thanks Marc,  it’s new.

    i am not sure how, but I finally got it to register. I tried several times on my iPhone and iPad then a few hours later when I re-opened the app on iPad it said that it had registered.
