Linux server running samba:

I told you about this years ago when I got my fingbox.
Suggest you look at how nmap does OS identification:
<div><pre class="CodeBlock"><code><div>Device type: general purpose<br>Running: Linux 2.6.X<br></div><div>OS CPE: cpe:/o:linux:linux_kernel:2.6.32</div><div>OS details: Linux 2.6.32</div>

    Hi @petercb
Have you tried to manually recognize the device?

Yes, Fing insists that it's Windows. Not an issue as I have no need for Fing to tell me what OS my servers are running, just pointing out a rather basic error you're making (the assumption that the presence of NetBIOS indicates a Windows OS). Errors like this let the product down.

I see the same thing with a CentOS linx box I have. Fing doesn't seem to get Linux - which is odd since the fingbox runs on it.
