Resurrecting this thread again. I had given up on Fing Desktop, but decided to try again when v2.0.0 was released. But still getting teh Fing service not found message, running macOS Catalina 10.15.5, no VPN service running. Did a full uninstall with AppCleaner and then a clean install, and still not connecting.

Hi @Robin. There were no results. After entering both commands, and then entering my password when prompted, it just displays the cursor.

I'm getting the same Fing service not found message. Then tried the same commands in Terminal, and getting no results as before.

@Robin_Ex_Fing Can you please share your findings in this matter??? I know you are taking care of the OP's problem via PM's but I know a lot of people, including myself, would be interested seeing this problem being troubleshot publicly, as Fing has not provided a solution to this issue other than the typical "Have you tried rebooting your computer yet, sir?". I'm having this issue on 3 systems of mine and I've run into a dead end in troubleshooting it. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!!! I've been fighting this battle intermittently for about 2 years! Thank You!

    Hey @bags_lights
The situation can differ from person to person and we need to take it off community and troubleshoot directly with an affected user. That being said, I have created a support ticket for you and ask you to respond via email at your earliest convenience.

Installed from the link that was emailed to me from the iOS app.  Got the same “Fing service not found”.

Uninstalled, restart, download from your link above.

    Ran the commands you requested.
    Results are:
    Davids-MBP:~ davidh$ /usr/bin/pgrep fingagent
    Davids-MBP:~ davidh$ sudo lsof -nP -iTCP:48080 -sTCP:LISTEN
    Password:
    Davids-MBP:~ davidh$

    Could you please advise me?

    Thank you in advance,
    DH

I've the same issues.  It doesn't ever ask for the password, so I'm assuming it doesn't request access.  It would be nice if it were set up with the installer or some other way of manually giving sudo permission before running.
