Fing Desktop periodically crashes on MacOS Catalina

I leave Fing running 24 hours on my iMac (MacOS Catalina). It crashes several times a day, forcing me to restart the application. This was happening with version 1.x and now still with version 2.0.0. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no help.

    Here is an example of the latest failure. I've done the reinstall several times before, although I'm not sure if I explicitly rebooted. So I'll try that later when I'm done with work. If you need the full text of the system configuration, I can provide that to you directly.

    @Robin

     I'm unable to install Fing again! After a full reboot, I keep getting this error after installing to the Applications folder. I even tried "completely uninstalling Fing" by removing additional folders as mentioned in this thread https://community.fing.com/discussion/3525/how-do-you-fully-uninstall-fing-desktop-1-0-for-mac

    I followed the instructions on https://community.fing.com/discussion/3711/when-i-download-and-try-to-install-the-desktop-app-on-my-imac-it-thinks-the-app-is-damaged#latest and was able to install using Safe Mode.
    I'll let it run for a few days and let you know if the original error starts showing again.

    Do you have any antivirus or firewall running on your MacBook? Also, will you be able to share the log files so I can investigate?

    To access the agent log files:

      1. Click on the Fing Desktop version in the bottom-left hand side of the screen

      2. This will display two folders to open. We will need specific files from each of these folders.

      3. Firstly open the "Service log folder" and compress all files of it and then, click on 'Open App Log Folder'

      4. When the folder opens, we will now need to compress and share the log.log file (titled 'log' - all lowercase). To compress and share: right-click on the file; choose 'Send to' & then choose 'Compressed zip folder'.

      5. Please attach both compressed files and either DM me or attach here so I can review.

    I do have Sentinel One running on my machine, but no firewall that I am aware of.
    The failure happened again today at 9:30am, same time. I'm gonna look for it again tomorrow.
    I DMed you the app logs. Unfortunately, the Service Log Folder button didn't do anything.

    Yup, it was 9:30am again today, on the nose. And I didn't notice any other failure during the day.

    It seems like some software on your device maybe Sentinel One is creating this issue. Can you disable the Sentinel One application and then check if the issue persists?

    So I can't disable Sentinel One. But that got me thinking about another possible option. I created the following plist in ~/Library/LaunchAgents/Fing.restart.plist

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
            <key>RunAtLoad</key>
            <true/>
            <key>KeepAlive</key>
            <true/>
            <key>Label</key>
            <string>Fing.restart</string>
            <key>ProgramArguments</key>
            <array>
                    <string>/Applications/Fing.app/Contents/MacOS/Fing</string>
            </array>
    </dict>
    </plist>

    I loaded it using
    launchctl load ~/Library/LaunchAgents/Fing.restart.plist
    This should start the app upon OS load and whenever the app closes or crashes. I've validated that it restarts when quitting the app. We'll see what happens tomorrow at 9:30am~!

    It's been working! Every day at 9:30am the app restarts just as it crashes. I'm gonna say this is a good enough solution for me. Thanks for the support through this issue

    Somehow I've lost my answer to this question due to a formatting issue so I am reposting it:
    In order to ensure Fing will automatically restart whenever it crashes or closes, create the following in
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/Fing.restart.plist

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><br><!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"><br><plist version="1.0"><br><dict><br>        <key>RunAtLoad</key>  <br>        <true/>  <br>        <key>KeepAlive</key><br>        <true/><br>        <key>Label</key><br>        <string>Fing.restart</string><br>        <key>ProgramArguments</key><br>        <array><br>                <string>/Applications/Fing.app/Contents/MacOS/Fing</string><br>        </array><br></dict><br></plist><br><br>
    and then load it using
    launchctl load ~/Library/LaunchAgents/Fing.restart.plist
