Why are Fing speedtests wrong?
mashevloff Member, Beta Tester Posts: 15✭
My fing reports download speeds about 1/2 of what I get when I run the test from my PC. Both Fing and my PC are connected to router, yet report differently. The PC is reporting what I pay for. Fing ois wrong
It took me a bit but I found a thread in the forums that tries to address the differences... https://community.fing.com/discussion/561/internet-speed-test
I would cut and paste it but its lengthy. It's a good read though.Thats Daphnee, she's a good dog...5
@mashevloff , fing uses mlabs for its internet speed test provider. Try a test against it and see what the results directly are. Post your results back here. Do both the Fing and mlabs tests one after the other so we can see if they sync up.

mashevloff Member, Beta Tester Posts: 15The results are the same as Fing - but OOKla shows me as faster - guess it's not a precise science???
