it would be great if I could send the log output via syslog to my logging server. or a different open logging method
this would be great for the digital fence output
What do others think?

Since the Fingbox is running Ubuntu Core I'd imagine it's not technically impossible to do this. @VioletChepil & @Robin, what are your thoughts?
People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.

I'm not so familiar with this but it could be a feature request and you can submit here? Or I can move for you @bena?
    https://community.fing.com/categories/fingbox-feature-requests
We have a couple of export options, but I don't think it is what you may be looking for.
You can export some presence in Fingbox via IFTTT: https://ifttt.com/fing
You can use this Applet to get presence log (of known devices) in a Google sheet: https://ifttt.com/applets/RuHiZhYA-have-fingbox-record-a-presence-log-in-a-google-spreadsheet
And you can also export your device list on the app:
    - Devices
    - 3 layered burger
    - Export
This should send to your email.
I know this may not exactly meet your needs, so I'd invite you to make a feature request for Fingbox.

Many system admins (including myself) maintain a central log server which various independent systems report to called syslog. This includes routers, database servers, web servers and even printers. Messages are submitted with a facility and a level (emergency, alert,,, thru debug). While most OSs (including unix, linux, windows...) include a built in service to receive and process the messages a very flexible  service is available at https://www.rsyslog.com.
Various programs are available to filter and report on these messages.
Adding this to fing would be very helpful and highly superior to sending emails.

    hi fing
would it be possible for you to update us on this enhancement please?
i believe it would increase sales of the fing box, but maybe you disagree.
