We do have a beta program! which we are planning to move here for a private group. I think we used test flight previously but now I need to check. We may have other packages to install!

@VioletChepil You did indeed use TestFlight at one time. I still have it sitting in TestFlight though it was for an older build I was testing for you.

Are the release notes missing a Fingbox update, @VioletChepil? My Fingbox tells me it's on 1.14.5, release notes go up to 1.14.0...
Let me guess... "Bugfixes"?People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.0 -
VioletChepil said:And @Marc just to confirm, yes on iOS, we're also using TestFlight!People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.1

Ah yes @Pooh it's bugfixes: generic. I'm updating the master release notes now.

We’ve got exciting news today at Fing! We’re starting the roll-out of Fing App 8.4.0 on iOS which includes the option to remove ads for all app users. Fing App 8.5.0 on Android is now out too.
Fingbox users do not see ads anyways, but now all app users can choose to remove them too.

There is a cost to remove ads but it's accessible and affordable and we hope you like the pricing structure.

$1.49 for 6 months
$2.49 for 1 year
Pricing is the same for USD/EUR/GBP. Other currencies get a converted rate from USD.

- * Improved stability and fixed bugs
Starting from iOS 13
- * Dark theme can be managed directly from the phone settings

Yes @Pooh it was great work by @Carlo_from_Fing and @marco_from_fing and team! But great to respond to users/members requests on this option. Eager to see other thoughts on the update too!

Pooh said:$2.49 for a year? "It's a deal, it's a steal, it's Sale of the **** Century!" (Tom, "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" - 1998)
Still, I'd rather the $99 for Life - with "Free" Fingbox
Glad you guys put this option in though!

As others have noted, with Fingbox it's ad-free anyway. However as a former Fing user (pre-box) for many years I always liked the ad-free nature of the App. I recognize that revenue has to come from somewhere, so my first criterion when looking at a new App is to look whether there is an ad-free option with a price I'm willing to pay. (I do not even bother to check whether an App can do what I want until I have checked whether it can be made ad-free for a reasonable price.) I have always liked "Lifetime" subscriptions, but I am getting to an age where sometimes year-by-year payments might be cheaper.--Pete

Thanks @pwmeek for the feedback. We're pretty keen to see how ads free works out for us. As you know being an app user for many years this is the first time we're trying it!

Definitely a good idea to have done this in my opinion. Can you give us any hints about how well it's working @VioletChepil ?! Does it look like it's going to allow for accelerated dev of the product ?2
-
Definitely not much $2.49 for a year, and a lot more honest that some lifetime apps that in the end just change name in a couple of years to restart charging another lifetime purchase... Unfortunately won't be appreciated by many people. I have a box so no worries. But got somehow disappointed to see ads in Fing... felt like the end of something good...2
