DNS resolution not working

I use ExpressVPN on my Windows 10 PC. If I am connected to the VPN Fing Desktop shows a warning in the network check - DNS resolution not working. If I disconnect from the VPN the network is checked again and the wanring disappears. Any ideas? The PC connects perfectly to the internet with the VPN running so no DNS isues apparent.

My guess is that if Fing Desktop is already running, it stores the DNS list once and does not refresh to the new DNS list after VPN starts. The Windows network stack picks up the new DNS list and works fine. While in VPN mode, the old DNS list is unlikely to work, hence the Fing warning.

Thank you. I would have thought that closing and reopining Fing Desktop would sort that out but it doesn't. I also tried Force Reload from the View menu but no luck again.

Next, if you are comfortable with it, I would look in the Windows registry (or Fing config file) for Fing both with and without VPN. That might give you some hints as to what is going on.

Thanks again. Can you point me to the location of the Fing config file?
