limiting internet connection for a device - how does it work?

I would like to know how this feature works with Fingbox, as the traffic in the lan is not flowing entirely through Fingbox, but directly via the router

"To block devices and measure device traffic, Fingbox leverages low level (data-link layer) network programming and packet injections to make sure the device is not able to reach the Internet and other local network devices. "
@genoscrooge not so much noise. Your devices are trying to look for the doorway to the internet. Normally the doorway is your router. But in this case the Fingbox is claiming to be the door; however; instead of opening to the internet the door opens to a wall
