This can't come soon enough for us folks here in the USA where more than 50% of all calls are now classed as spam.

    Hi @Pooh my ISP offers a service (for landlines at least) that stops a goodly amount of spam that I just started using.  The just started piece I bring up because I had no idea they offered it and once I enabled it, it was like night and day.  I'm wondering how many other ISP's are out there that offer free services but don't really make it plainly available to their customers.  I really just happened into it while trying to configure something on the phone service.

    @Marc -

    Whilst we got a small amount of spam calls to the landline, it's my cell that gets hit hard. So anything that would help curtail this is going to be welcomed by me for one. If you have a true VoIP landline service then I hear tell there are options, ours is just a normal phone hooked into the fiber.

    I did try some of the apps available for iOS, but none of them seemed to be doing much of anything useful, apart from drain my bank account $9.99 each and every month...

    Yea, I have ATT for cell and their app is, how do I say this gently, not worth the effort of installing it.  My home phone service is voip so the services work as we were inundated with spam prior to enabling it.  Its interesting how they work it.  You set your phone service to ring an additional line, in this case the vendors, and if the call if not on their white list, it will stop after one ring.  So far no important calls missed.

    This week, 100% of the calls on my cell phone were spam. T-Mobile usually does an ok job of blocking spam, but 6 of the 9 calls came through this week. Scammers have started using "Private caller" more often, which I thought I could block, but I can't seem to find that setting now.
