Fingbox can catch new devices (IP addresses), it's quite good at it. But it can't catch trojans and exploited devices, but if a device connects to your network Fingbox will capture and report it, it can also automatically block new devices.

It happens often enough, you are in no way stupid.

To answer your question yes Fing can help you identify unrecognized devices on your network, but you must be able to recognize an out of place device. Run a scan, identify and name each device, and upon subsequent scans new devices will show up.

First and foremost you need to change your WiFi password to something you have never used before and that your ex-partner wouldn't know.

If you have compromised deviced there is little Fing can do to help. You will need to restore the factory OS on the compromised devices to be certain nothing remains.

I’m trying to catch her. The problem is that I can wipe everything everyday and it’s like a speed bump. She wrecked 12 androids, 3-4 tablets and a laptop in one year.

The police either don’t care, don’t believe me or whatever but they tell me I have to prove it’s her. I think it’s BS, but here we are.

In the last 3 years, I have almost caught her twice. When I was using androids, I downloaded Logdog. As soon as it activated her IP was in both of my Facebooks, a couple gmails and a yahoo. I called the police and made an appointment with a detective a couple days out and the next morning my phone had been factory reset.

A few months ago, I got a Wi-Fi extender and it it had a privacy selector. It caught a hidden device on my Jetpack and I blocked it. Which saved her MAC. The police had all my devices for 4 days. Gave it all back and said there were so many proxys, they couldn’t ID it.

I need to catch an IP on my network.

If she is so talented the is consistently able to exploit your devices and network, then I would suggest hiring or acquiring the services of a network security professional. My gauge on her abilities would be if she is actually capable of doing what you claim AND she is employed professionally as a cybersecurity professional or pen tester.

Although I do employ a fingbox on my home network, I am employed as a automation network specialist and it would be trivial for me to track and prevent unwanted access to a network I manage. I would not however recommend that you continue to hunt this issue yourself. If this is actually happening, then you are outclassed and should get a pro to help.

Just too add to this.Perfectly understand how luckymantaco is feeling. In my situation this I hope can be useful to Fing developers. When doing a vulnerability scan in fing app while having a fingbox it knocks the hacker off a signal the hacker is piggy backing off of. Although I am unaware of wat tool this hacker is using,I'm sure it has something to do with the ports. And the scan knocks him off.

Would be nice if fingbox sent information of these events to there server for analysis
