Hello everyone,

We understand that for varying reasons you may need to change your  email address, e.g. changing jobs, setting up a shared account or maybe just 'starting a fresh'. Here are the instructions on how to do this via the Fing Community.

Change Fing account email address (no Fingbox)

If you do not have a Fingbox and you would like to change the e-mail address you use for the Fing App, simply set up a new account using your new e-mail address.

Via the Fing Community: you can then privately direct message the Fing Community Administrator, Ciaran Curley clarifying the account you would like to delete. To direct message, click on the 'Envelope' icon in the top right hand corner of the community and type in the name of the recipient, in this case 'Ciaran Curley'.

Change Fingbox account email address (retain all Fingbox history & records)

In order to change the email associated with a Fingbox, we need to verify the account.

Via the Fing Community: you can privately direct message the Fing Community Administrator, Ciaran Curley . For privacy reasons, please ensure you are messaging from the account currently associated with the Fingbox. In the message, please include:

  1. A request to disassociate the e-mail account from the Fingbox
  2. Provide the new email address that you would like the Fingbox associated with
  3. The MAC address of the Fingbox (beside the barcode on the unit)

NB: please ensure you have created a Fing account with the new email so that Fingbox can be linked to the new account.

Once we have received all of the above information we will be able to transfer the Fingbox from the old account to the new account. This will retain all Fingbox history and records.

Change Fingbox account email address (lose all Fingbox history & records)

This is essentially a 'reset' of the Fingbox. If you would like to dis-associate a Fing account from a Fingbox, we firstly need to verify the account.

I followed the directions to change my email address for the Fing app and received no response. Ciaran's profile shows last online date in December.
