Import XML file

I saved my settings prior to changing my email address. How can I import them?

Hi @phasr - only device names/details would transfer over. You cannot currently import XML into Fing App.
Do you use Fing App or Fingbox too?
You'd need to Login to the same Fing account.
For Fing app users, we can only offer to delete account and create a new one.
Unfortunately you'd need to re-customize your devices.
Let me know anything else I can help with.

Why provide an "export" for settings if they are not useable?

    Hi @phasr
A few more details on this. Do you have a Fingbox?
If you have a Fingbox, we can change your email for you through our support team.

You can export the device list but there is no feature to import to a new account. Some people do like to keep this information on file.

For Fing app users (without Fingbox)
Some data that has been stored locally on your device can transfer to your new account.
You can go to the network tab and then click on ISP name and then there will be an option to synch names and icons. This could be used to transfer data that has been stored locally on the app to your new account. Some customizations may need to be re-configured.

Let me know if that clears things up a bit.
Happy to help more if needed.
    Cheers,
    Violet
