    Hi @jdroso65, welcome to the forums...  in order to block devices, you would need to purchase a Fingbox.  You get some decent additional features besides blocking as well.  I’ve linked to it above...

    Thanks everyone! I had a Netgear router with a free app (Genie) that allowed me to do all this prior. I am am switching to an Actiontec modemn/router. just bummed I need to purchase a separate BOX.

    I'm having the problem of no block option appearing in the "Manage this device" options block.  I have a Fingbox, I have connected it, and I have been able to identify all of the devices on my wi-fi.  I have tried to figure it out using the app on my phone and the web version, but they're the same.  Is there something I need to do to tell the app that I have a Fingbox?

    @KyleJHSmith, are you logged into the same account on the app as you used on the web version?

    Yes, I believe so.  I'm not working on re-finding the Fingbox.  I've got the light going green now, but the app can't find the Fingbox.  I've unplugged it from LAN1 and moved it to LAN2 on the back of my router to see if that might make a difference, but the app can't seem to find the Fingbox.  I can't tell if the Fingbox is on the same wifi network as my app and phone, so maybe that's what I need to investigate next (we have 5G and 2.4G wifi options).  Does anyone know how to check what network it is on?

    Okay, a little bit of success: I was able to activate the Fingbox and connect it to my account and the Block option appeared.  (1) I can't seem to solve the problem of the other wifi options available through my internet connection.  I can't block the other options, so devices can log on to the other wifi options (even though they are all out of our one modem).  (2) Also, I have attempted to block one device for a week and it didn't work.  The device is still logging on and accessing the internet via the named network that the Fingbox says it controls.  

    All in all, this Fingbox and app is EXTREMELY frustrating.  It is not easy, it is not doing what it says it will do, and it has taken me ALL DAY to try to configure it.  I am very annoyed and very disappointed in the Fingbox.

    @KyleJHSmith, this stuff can get daunting at times, I hear you.  It could be something simple we are not seeing in your configuration that could be causing this such as ipv6 network limitations on some features.  @Robin or @Ciaran, could one of you kindly give @KyleJHSmith a hand at sorting things out?

    Thank you for your patience, reassurance, and support, Marc.  Things are looking better this morning, with blocking looking like it is working.  I'm not sure why it started working, but I won't tempt fate by asking questions!  The only remaining question I have is about getting Fing to cover the other wi-fi options available through my internet connection.  I can't seem to get the other options registered with Fing, so devices can log on to the other wi-fi options (even though they are all out of our one modem). (For example, when you open Wi-Fi in Settings on your phone, there are four options to choose from: Smith65B-5G, Smith65B, SmithGuest65B_2.4G, and SmithGuest65B_5G.  They are all ours, and all from one modem.  I have used the Smith65B-5G wi-fi connection for all of the Fing set-up process, and I can't figure out how to register the other wi-fi network options with Fing so they are covered, too.)  THANK YOU to all of you for your help!  It is really nice that there is help out there, especially after spending all day yesterday growling at my computer and wondering how I would figure this out!

    Now as for the other networks you are seeing, I'm under the assumption that Fing would NOT be able to handle them...  The below is from Fings help page at this link. (Emphasis below is mine)

    "The Fingbox is designed for the average home network. It can manage/control one LAN or VLAN and one 2.4 GHz /5 GHz Wi-Fi network with the same SSID. You will need to pick one of your SSID to monitor/control via the Fingbox. You will have to choose the network you want to monitor/control to put the Fingbox and use the Fing App to access the Fingbox. "

    You probably don't want to disable the Smith65B network since most people have 2.4ghz devices in their household, but the two guest networks if not needed I would disable them.

    How did you achieve the connection? i have the same problem... its says Fingbox not finded... but i can see it in the devices list...

    Hi @ruh

    I would like to tell you that in order to make the first connection of Fingbox, it needs to be connected directly to the router. If you have multiple devices plugged into the router, then you can use a switch and free one of the ports for Fingbox by connecting those devices to a switch which connects back to the router. 

    To assist with setting up your Fingbox set up, under App Settings, please make the following 2 changes: 

    1. Disable Reverse DNS Lookup 

    2. Change the Maximum network size to match your network size. 

    To do this: 

    • Open the Fing app, ensure that you are on the Network associated with your Fingbox 

    • Tap on the Avatar icon in the top-right corner 

    • Choose 'App Settings' 

    • Scroll down and go to the "Maximum Network Size" setting and select the size based on the number of devices connected to network in your house. 

    These changes should help with the issues in scanning. 

    a) The top circle LEDs never turns GREEN. There is only a WHITE led. 

    This means that there may be a problem with the system startup. 

    To solve the issue please try a few power cycles and leave the Fingbox for up to 30 mins. Please also ensure that the Fingbox is plugged directly into a power source on the wall (as opposed to a power extension chord) 

     b) The top circle is GREEN but the Fingbox is not found 

    Make sure to connect the Fingbox to your main router or WiFi access point. Disconnect Wi-Fi extenders or power line bridges. Also, make sure that your mobile phone is connected to same wifi(access point) on which Fingbox is connected. 

    If you are unable to see the Fingbox, then please remove all old network from the Fing App and then run the scan again and then try to find the Fingbox again. 

    To remove old Networks, please follow these steps:  
    1. Open the Fing App  
    2. Click on the Network Tab  

    3. From the Top DropDown Menu, long tap on the network that you want to delete.  
    4. Select 'Delete' and then go back  
    5. Go to 'Accounts & Settings' display (by clicking on the icon/avatar in the top right-hand corner of the main display on the screen on the App)  
    6. Click on 'Account storage'  
    7. Click 'Synchronize'
