Has consideration been given to how VPN use on mobile devices may affect Fing functionality?  Does VPN use WiFi networks affect their discovery and identification by Fing?

I've moved this one over to the Fing App category!

Do you have a Fingbox? If not, I don't think there would be any change in Fing App functionality as Fing App discovery will identify devices on a best effort basis, based on the information made available by the device, e.g. the MAC address.
Are you having any issue with device identification?
There are numerous reasons why the device might not be recognised correctly e.g.
    - The DHCP server is not refreshing when speaking to your Fingbox.(If have Fingbox)
    OR
    - Limited information being offered by specific devices.
Let me know any further details so I can help further

A VPN connection, the first time, is a new device as far as the Fingbox is concerned.  I had to comment to mine initially the first time so I would allow the "new" device to connect, since I have mine set to automatically block new devices.  Now if works five with no issues.
