I have a few PCs sitting on my network and Fing is detecting them all as "Bitdefender / ProductAgent1.0" instead of the correct vendor eg. Dell, how can I fix this ?

Hi @MartynK are you using Fingbox or Fing App?
I may have a solution if you are using Fingbox. We are testing a new type of device recognition to fix this.
Could you have a look at this beta test? This is helpful to get the algorithm to get the right device details.

    Hi @MartynK
Do you have any Firewall or Bit Defender device running on your network or any device which may be the reason for this behavior?

Thanks for the information. Can you try to disable the Bitdefender and then run the scan and see if the issue persists. Please make sure to remove the devices which were incorrectly identified from the Fing App and then run the scan.

Hi, only by uninstalling Bitdefender does it correctly identify the machine. It seems that even if you disable the functions within bitdefender, there is still something there that Fing detects.

@Stu593 is having a similar issue, as noted here:
In this case, it is still showing as "Product Agent for Windows" and "Bitdefender", even after all Bitdefender items were uninstalled from the
    PC.

Can you check with Fing Desktop if they are also identifying them wrong or not? To download Fing Desktop, please use this link. Thanks

    Hi,
No using the Ring app does not make any difference, its still showing incorrect device types and even worse, it does not show the device names I have been through and set all within the web pages.

So for example my Senibo AC controller is showing up as a Ring Doorbell.

@Ciaran I have a Fingbot, Android app and Desktop app.
My Fingbot shows a network based on MAC address, the Android/Desktop apps report the same SSID name but list the network with an IP, so when I login to the web page, I see two networks.
If I change a device name or alert details, its saved against the network with the MAC address, if I do anything with apps, its saved against the network with the IP address as the identifier.
Both networks (I am sure it should really only be showing one) show the devices on the network with the wrong device types.

    Hi @MartynK
Currently, this is the limitation of Fing Dekstop and Fingbox. If you have a Fingbox then you install Fing Dekstop then you will have two separate networks on your account. One is from Fingbox and the other is from Fing Desktop.
