... looks like I've asked this twice. I did find the "Ask a Question" button in the end! (Duh - but it wasn't so obvious in my phone browser as it is on my laptop.) This one doesn't show under "My discussions" - is there a page of "watched threads" where I can see all discoussions that I've participated in?

I am used to forums but not finding this one very easy to find my way around.

    Hi @Mand
We don't have exactly what you are looking for right now, but here are some other helpful ideas.

    Alert settings:
You can review all your alert settings here which will help you get notified about the things you'd like to:
    https://community.fing.com/profile/preferences/VioletChepil (my example)
    https://community.fing.com/profile/preferences/yourname (where yours lives)

    Follow discussions:
You can follow your conversations by clicking the STAR:

    Follow categories:
You can also follow specific categories from the categories page by clicking follow:
    https://community.fing.com/categories

    Community UX improvements:
Unfortunately though, our platform provider does not offer the feature you mention organically and that would mean we'd need custom dev for it. I hope to get some improvements to the community in the new year to help users engage and navigate better with the content.
I do realize that some things are a bit finicky, and agree with a lot of the UX comments. This one too.
So best I can do is ask you to keep submitting your requests for community improvements in this category here and hopefully we can get some of them looked at or implemented soon. You can post those requests/feedback here:
    https://community.fing.com/categories/welcome
    Cheers,
    Violet

OK thanks, so we have to manually bookmark (with the star) each discussion , the board doesn't automatically follow when we post a reply? I'm surprised - never before seen a forum without this - but now I know, fair enough. At least it does auto follow those we ourselves start.

I'll certainly submit suggestions as they occur to me :)
User feedback, naturally, is the only way any service gets to improve.

I already had that turned on in my preferences - both email and popup.
Come to think of it, I haven't had any popups here at all... i'll have a fiddle with my browser settings . Also haven't had the browser telling me a popup was trying to pop...

... I think that's a browser settings problem; I did get the email telling me you'd replied here. I'll have a deeper look this evening - watch this space.

(Oh the other hand, there isn't a page of "watched" where I could see everything I've participated in. There is a page of discussions I started, and one of discussions I've bookmarked, but not those I have just replied to. Usually i bookmark, I mean browser-bookmark, the "watched"/"participated" page to save that extra click from landing on a forum's home page.)

Thanks @mand. yes I'm aware of that issue and some need for navigating recent and discussions you care about better.
The provider have no native solution but I think these are definitely topics for custom dev work that can hopefully be possible in the new year.

But I have now found the notifications with the "bell" icon at the top of the page. That'll do. :)
Being a bit slow on the uptake here! Comes of impatience.
I get it, about Fing not being behind the design of the forum features.

Ok great. Yes for now, we've started up with a provider.
But we have big plans for community. First months I'm just focused on building/showing value - then hopefully we can aim for improvements next year to make it awesome.
