Polite notice: Posting tips and community etiquette

Hello all,
Previously I’ve written about tips to start a great discussion. Here’s a quick cheat sheet on getting started with posting on the Fing Community.
Like and respond to comments:
This is very important! When people comment and provide answers to your questions and threads - please be courteous to other members who are taking the time to help you! Like their comments and engage with them. Answer questions as needed so they can help further. I can’t stress how important this is. Please engage with the people that are helping you - this also rewards people for their help and keeps the community thriving.
How to engage with comments:
Tag your post:
Add tags to your content like #smarthome #devices #fingapp #nest #ipcamera etc. This helps admins identify trends and other members filter content.
Choose a BEST ANSWER:
Did this answer the question? Yes/No. You will see this on the bottom of every comment on a question thread. If a members response has helped you solve your problem, please choose Yes. You can choose as many best answers as you like. These appear at the top and let others know they can find a BEST ANSWER in the thread.
How to choose a BEST ANSWER:
Question or Discussion:
In most cases, if you need help or to solve something, it’s best to submit your post as a question. This will ensure the BEST ANSWER option appears. A BEST ANSWER is important, because it lets other members using the community know they can find a good answer to the problem in the thread.
How your thread appears with a BEST ANSWER:
Post in the right category:
Please post all Fing App and Fingbox questions in their respective categories rather than Devices/Security and Network Troubleshooting/Connectivity. These categories are reserved for other content unrelated to Fing App and Fingbox.
Fing App category: https://community.fing.com/categories/fing-app
Fingbox category: https://community.fing.com/categories/fingbox
Help the community grow:
We want the Fing Community to be your go-to troubleshooting resource for any issue in regards to your smart home, devices, security or network troubleshooting. Please post in the Devices/Security and Network Troubleshooting/Connectivity categories to help us grow.
Devices/Security category: https://community.fing.com/categories/devices
Network Troubleshooting/Connectivity category: https://community.fing.com/categories/connectivity

@VioletChepil tagging I find hit and miss when I'm posting. There's been many a time when I've been trying to create a tag that I've ended up accidentally submitting as opposed to creating the tag due to how the Vanilla software feels - this mostly happens when I'm on my mobile Apple devicen. As a result there are times when I give up trying to tag a post.People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing every day.10

Thanks for that feedback @Pooh. I've not tried from mobile but will give it a go too.

I've been through and am going through what they are going through, and it's of a personal nature. How do I ask them (or let them) DM me to offer more personal assistance? (I'm 65, retired IT, yes, I know the dangers).Robin (Admin at Fing)
